Hi, My name is Captain Kelly Kofmehl. I am one of only a couple guides that can make the claim that I am a Citrus County native, and can say that my only profession is Fishing and the only that I have done. I have worked and fished the waters of the Nature Coast for 30 years, wether in the Back country and Mangrove creeks, to the Flats and the Oyster Bars, to the Blue water offshore. I have fished most of the Gulf of Mexico off the West Coast of Florida. I am a third generation Florida Fisherman. My Grandfather, Charlie Kofmehl, was A fishing guide in the 1950's and the 60's. Fishing has also been my father,Jimmy Kofmehl, only occupation for 50 years!

Many different species of fish inhabit the waters of the Nature Coast that I call home such as the Speckled Trout, Cobia, Spanish Mackerel, Black Drum, Sharks, Tarpon, Pompano, Snook, Tarpon, and many others, that live on the Grass Flats. The Mangrove creeks, Rock flats,and Oyster Bars are the home of the mighty Redfish, one of the most sought after game fish of Florida.

The two main Rivers Are the Crystal River and the Homosassa River, they are both Spring fed rivers. There are 5 smaller rivers, Withlacoochee, Halls river, Salt River, Chassahowizka River, and St. Martians. Most of the fishing around these rivers and Ozello is on light tackle and some sight fishing. All of the charters that I do are private trips (your group only)and custom tailored to meet your needs. From the beginner to the avid angler, small children to senior citizens and everyone in between. Live bait to cut bait,artificial to fly fishing, I will do what it takes to make your trip one that you wont soon forget. I can also handle large groups with advanced notice. 1 to 4 anglers per boat.Come and fish the crystal clear waters of Citrus county that I call home.
