Citrus County has 7 rivers.  The Withlacoochee is the border of Citrus county and Levy county. The next river to the south is the Crystal River, with the Salt River branching off of it.  South of these rivers are the Homosassa, Halls, another Salt, and Chassahowitzka Rivers.  In between these rivers are many islands, and marsh areas that contain Mangrove creeks.  In the creeks and the outside islands one can find many different kinds of game fish that are the targets of anglers.  These same creeks are also home to Bottle Nose Porpoises.  We always take a minute to watch them herd up a bunch of Mullet, making them jump into the air, and then catch them, so they can get some dinner.

    All of my fishing charters are custom tailored to meet the client's needs.  For example, if you are bringing small children, we may not target some of the more spooky species, such as Redfish that are in real shallow water. We may target Trout, Spanish Mackerel and other of the many that call the waters of the Nature Coast home. Yes, children are more than welcome - I have seven myself.  It has been my experience that kids have more fun with more action (some adults too), than trying to catch a trophy fish.

    The most important key to fishing in my area is the tide.  Different stages of the tide produce different kinds of fish in different areas.  I do not fish spots.  I fish all over the counties’ waters.  I don’t have set times to fish.  I try to work the tides as much as I can, to fit in with your schedule.  There is also almost always some kind of fish running hot, not always the same thing, depending on the time of the year.  It is my goal to make your trip to the nature coast waters one that you will talk about for a long time to come.
